Give me my scallop-shell of quiet,
My staff of faith to walk upon,
My script of joy, immortal diet,
M
y bottle of salvation.
My gown of glory, hopes true gauge,
And thus I'll take my pilgrimage.

~Sir Walter Raleigh

A hiker, walking for pleasure, likes to choose between several alluring trails.
The pilgrim desires only the road that leads home.

The ruffle of the news these days and its focus seems to be on what will or will not occur on the 21st.
This quiet word was in my morning's reading. It seems to put all things in their proper perspective.

And now, little children,
abide settled in Him,
so that when He appears,
we may have perfect confidence,
and not be ashamed and shrink from Him at His coming.
~I John 1.28
